Will Ferrell still keen on Step Brothers sequel, but not Elf, Old School or Night at the Roxbury

July 4, 2017 by Gary Collinson

During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live to promote his new film The House [read our reviews here and here], Will Ferrell has revealed that he’s still keen on a sequel to 2008’s Step Brothers.

After shooting down the possibility of sequels to Elf, Night at the Roxbury and Old School, Ferrell was asked whether he is keen on revisiting any of his past films, responding that: “We talked a little bit about Step Brothers and… so who knows. At the same time, you like to create new things.”

A sequel to Step Brothers has been rumoured for many years now, although back in February Ferrell seemed to rule out the possibility, stating that: “You have to resist the temptation. It’s just tough because the things everyone wants you to do sequels of are special because there’s not a sequel of it. I guess we’ll see, but as of now there are no plans.”

Ferrell is of course no stranger to sequels, having starred in the likes of Anchorman: The Legend Continues, Zoolander 2 and the upcoming Daddy’s Home 2. Meanwhile, he is also reuniting with his Step Brothers co-star John C. Reilly for Holmes and Watson, which is set for release next year.
