Charlie Saxton and Dave Foley join Misfits U.S. remake

July 10, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was announced that the British series Misfits is set for a U.S. remake from Freeform, and now we have word on two more additions to the cast, with Deadline reporting that Charlie Saxton (Hung) and Dave Foley (NewsRadio) have joined the project as series regulars.

Saxton will play Simon, who is described as “Intelligent and odd, Simon makes his way through life ignored by the world at large. Alternately tormented and shunned by his roommates, Simon has just as much trouble connecting with the other misfits he meets at community service.” Foley is set to portray Bernie, “a disheveled driver (think Uber), he’s clumsy, dorky and wearing clothes from 1990. Everything about this guy screams ‘desperate’”.

The two new additions join the previously cast Ashleigh LaThrop (Siren), Tre Hall (Rebel), Allie MacDonald (Orphan Black) and Jack Cannavale (Nurse Jackie) in the series, which has been written by Diane Ruggiero-Wright (iZombie) and is being produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire. Production on the pilot is currently underway in Vancouver.
