Doctor Who Christmas Special titled Twice Upon a Time, Bill Potts and The Captain returning

July 23, 2017 by Villordsutch

There is still twenty-two weeks left to Christmas yet the fever surrounding 2017’s Doctor Who Christmas Special is already running at high, with it being Peter Capaldi’s final episode, David Bradley taking the reigns of the First Doctor, Jodie Whittaker taking the key to the TARDIS (as the first female Doctor) and now just revealed over at San Diego Comic Con is not only the title of the upcoming Christmas Special, but also the news that a previous Companion is returning too!

The Doctor Who Christmas Special shall be titled “Twice Upon a Time” and Season 10 Companion Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) will be returning for this special, though how exactly she’ll be returning hasn’t been announced.  It was rumoured – at the beginning of July – that Jenna Coleman may be returning as Clara Oswald, also for this Christmas Special, but this hasn’t been confirmed as yet.

Also revealed at the Doctor Who panel was that Mark Gatiss will return to Doctor Who as a World War 1 Soldier known as ‘The Captain’.  Gatiss is a major fan of Doctor Who and championed its return, writing a number of stories including The Unquiet Dead and Empress of Mars; he’s also starred in a cluster of episodes, most notably as Richard Lazarus in The Lazarus Experiment.

Doctor Who returns to our screens Christmas Day on BBC1.
