Vin Diesel will star in the Fast & Furious Live arena tour

August 13, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in February it was announced that Universal is taking Fast & Furious on the road with a live arena tour featuring some of the most memorable stunts and scenes from the blockbuster movie franchise, and now Vin Diesel has taken to Facebook to announce that he will part part of the extravaganza:

“I am in New York, believe it or not, and we are filming something that is going to be pretty state of the art, something no one’s ever seen before, which is a live show. I think it’s first going to be showed at the O2 Arena in London, but it’s going to go all over the world and we’re really excited about it. It’ll be a way for you to see the action first-hand, first time it’s ever been done.”

Presumably Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in the movie series, will be appearing via some kind of video (or hologram?) rather than live and in-person. We’ll find out for certain when Fast & Furious Live gets underway in January 2018.

Fast & Furious Live brings to life the physics-defying stunts that have defined the eight-film franchise.  Using the most advanced technology and featuring all the favorite cars from the blockbuster series, Fast & Furious Live will evoke the most audacious moments from the beloved series.  Audiences will feel the heat from flaming exhausts and marvel at mind-blowing vehicular acrobatics as scene after scene unfolds with the most immersive, entertaining technology imaginable.

Re-creating the underground streets of Los Angeles to locations that crisscross the globe, Fast & Furious Live allows fans to relive the most extreme action as precision performance drivers—surrounded by blockbuster set design, authentic digital projections and state-of-the-art physical obstacles—execute pulse-pounding stunts.
