Back in July it was revealed that It director Andy Muschietti has signed on to helm the live-action Robotech movie for Sony, and now Deadline is reporting that the project has found a new writer.
According to the site, Jason Fuchs – who co-wrote the story for this year’s Wonder Woman with Zack Snyder and Allan Heinberg – has signed on to work with Muschietti on the script for the anime adaptation.
Robotech is based on the Harmony Gold USA series from the 1980s, and takes place on a Earth which has developed giant robots from the technology of a crashed alien spacecraft, and use the technology to fight off wave after wave of extraterrestrial invaders.
As yet, there’s no word on a potential start date for Robotech, but Fuchs will have time to work on the script given that Muschietti is now turning his attention to the second chapter of It.
