Operation Sealion War Story now available for World of Tanks

September 21, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Historical warfare MMO developers, Wargaming, have announced that the third installment of War Stories is now available on World of Tanks Console.  Following Brothers in Armour and Flashpoint Berlin, the latest campaign is an alternate history of Operation Sealion.  Watch the trailer below…

The actual Operation Sealion were Hitler’s plans to invade the United Kingdom that relied mostly on the success of the Luftwaffe destroying the RAF and dominating the skies.  Thankfully, the tenacity and skill of the RAF during the Battle of Britain ensured that the Luftwaffe didn’t get the air superiority they needed and as a result Hitler called off the invasion.  In this installment of War Stories Hitler’s plan has come to fruition and a Nazi invasion force has landed on British soil and is heading to London and it is up to the player to take control of the Cromwell Resistance tank and take on waves of German vehicles.

Operation Sealion will consist of 3 chapters:

Chapter 1: The Queen’s Gambit – The Germans have landed at Dover and players will join the survivors of Dunkirk in preventing them from reaching London.

Chapter 2: En Passant – Using captured RAF airfields the Germans are launching attacks on both civilian and military targets.  Players will join the attack on these airfields to help the RAF turn the tide.

Chapter 3: Checkmate – With the airfields liberated the Germans have been pushed back to their beachhead at Dover.  Players will assault the German landing zones to end Hitler’s invasion of Great Britain once and for all.

Once players have completed the campaign they will be able to access the Challenge Mode and use any tank in their arsenal to be brought onto the battlefield.
