X-Men: Days of Future Past extended director’s cut not arriving until next year

August 6, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back at the start of last month, X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner revealed that an extended Director’s Cut of this year’s mutant superhero smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past would be arriving later this year. However, if you were planning on putting off buying the theatrical version – which arrives in October – in order to wait for the extended edition, then we have some bad news for you as 20th Century Fox’s EVP of Marketing Communications James Finn has stated via Twitter that the extended cut won’t be out until 2015. So, it seems any Anna Paquin fans out there are going to have to wait a little longer before they get to see Rogue back in action…

Will you be picking up the theatrical edition of X-Men: Days of Future Past, or do you plan on holding off for the extended cut?

X-Men: Days of Future Past is directed by Bryan Singer and sees X-Men veterans Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Lucas Till (Havok), Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) and Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) joined in the cast by franchise newcomers Evan Peters (American Horror Story) as Quicksilver, Booboo Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) as Warpath, Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Bishop, Fan Bingbing (Iron Man 3) as Blink, Adan Canto (The Following) as Sunspot, Evan Jonigkeit (The Following) as Toad, Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road) as William Stryker and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as Bolivar Trask.
