Aaron McCusker to play Freddie Mercury’s lover Jim Hutton in Bohemian Rhapsody

Deadline is reporting that Aaron McCusker (Shameless, Fortitude) has joined the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, where he will play Jim Hutton, the lover of Freddie Mercury from 1985 through to his death in 1991.

The biopic sees Bryan Singer (X-Men: Apocalypse) directing and Mr. Robot’s Rami Malek taking on the role of the legendary Queen frontman. Also featuring in the cast are Gwilym Lee (Jamestown) as Brian May, Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse) as Roger Taylor, Joe Mazzello (The Social Network) as John Deacon and Lucy Boynton (Sing Street) as Mary Austin.

Bohemian Rhapsody will chronicle the rise of Queen and the years leading up to the band’s iconic Live Aid performance in 1985. It is set for release on December 25th 2018 in the States and December 28th 2018 in the UK.
