Kyle MacLachlan joins Eli Roth’s The House with a Clock in Its Walls

September 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from his return to Twin Peaks, Kyle MacLachlan has found his next project, with Deadline reporting that the actor has signed on to star in Eli Roth’s The House with a Clock in Its Walls, where he’ll join the previously announced Jack Black and Cate Blanchett.

Based on John Bellairs’ 1973 horror book and scripted by Eric Kripke (Supernatural), The House with a Clock in Its Walls follows a recently orphaned 10-year-old boy who discovers a world of hidden passageways, magic and danger when he moves into the house of his uncle, a mediocre witch.

MacLachlan is set to portray Isaac Izard, the sinister original owner of the house, while Jack Black portrays the uncle and Blanchett is playing Mrs. Zimmerman, a witch and the uncle’s neighbour/best friend.

The House with a Clock in Its Walls is in pre-production now, while Roth’s next film – the remake of Death Wish, starring Bruce Willis – is set for release this November.
