Pablo Schreiber joins First Man as astronaut Jim Lovell

October 6, 2017 by Gary Collinson

American Gods‘ Pablo Schreiber has become the latest addition to the cast of First Man, the upcoming biopic of Neil Armstrong and the Apollo 11 Moon landing.

Schreiber is set to take on the role of astronaut Jim Lovell, the commander of Apollo 13 (he was played by Tom Hanks in the Ron Howard movie), who is one of only 24 people to have flown to the moon, and the only person to have flown there twice without landing.

First Man will see Damien Chazelle’s La La Land star Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong, while the rest of the cast includes Corey Stoll (Buzz Aldrin), Kyle Chandler (Deke Slayton), Jason Clarke (Ed White), Jon Bernthal (David Scott), Shea Whigham (Gus Grissom), Brian d’Arcy James (Joseph A. Walker), and Claire Foy (Janet Shearon).
