A couple of weeks back it was announced that Elle Fanning (Maleficent) will play Mary Shelley in A Storm in the Clouds, and now it has been revealed that Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is also set to appear as the Frankenstein author in a new film entitled Mary Shelley’s Monster.
According to Deadline, the film “tracks the young writer as she writes her seminal novel and is drawn into a Faustian bargain with her own “monster” of an alter ego, who offers literary fame at a desperate personal cost”, with producer Rose Ganguzza stating that it will “tell the story of the most extraordinary 19th century teenage heroine told in a visceral, sexy, contemporary way.”
Turner is set to be joined in the cast of Mary Shelley’s Monster by Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) as Percy Shelley and Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as as Mary’s stepsister Claire Clairmont. The film is being directed by Coky Giedroyc, whose credits include Penny Dreadful and The Killing.
