Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster to meet Darryl Jacobson in new Team Thor short

October 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Originally published October 27, 2017. Updated November 30, 2022.

It looks like we have another appearance from Thor’s roommate Darryl Jacobson to look forward to, with Jeff Goldblum revealing to The Radio Times that he has reprised his Thor: Ragnarok role of The Grandmaster for another of the hilarious Team Thor shorts!

“Well, I could go anywhere – I might knock on your door, and say ‘Hello, guess who’s here?'” said Goldblum when asked what’s next for The Grandmaster. “I shot a thing with [director Taika Waititi], where there’s a roommate in Australia. I show up at his, and I do knock on his door. And I take up residence in the little flat, as they say here. That’s what I do. And order things from the takeaway restaurant. Buy all the local foods.”

Hopefully we’ll get to see this on the Thor: Ragnarok Blu-ray. In the meantime, you can check out the first two Team Thor shorts here and here.

Here’s our interview with Jeff Goldblum for Thor: Ragnarok…

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) and features a cast that includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge, Taika Waititi as Korg, Clancy Brown as Surtur, Rachel House as Topaz, Tadanobu Asano as Hogun, Ray Stevenson as Volstagg and Zachary Levi as Fandral.
