Louis C.K.’s I Love You, Daddy pulled from release as FX, HBO, Netflix, TBS and Illumination Entertainment sever ties

November 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

In the wake of sexual misconduct allegations, which he subsequently confirmed to be true, distributor The Orchard has announced that it has pulled the release of Louis C.K.’s new film I Love You, Daddy, which was slated to open in theaters this coming Friday, November 17th.

The black-and-white comedy had been funded by C.K. himself, although The Orchard paid $5 million to acquire the distribution rights to the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September.

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have also announced that C.K. will not be returning to voice the character of Max in the 2019 animated sequel The Secret Life of Pets 2, while Netflix has dropped its plans for a new standup special, HBO has removed all of his material from its streaming platforms.

Furthermore, FX Networks and FX Productions have announced that they are ending their association with C.K. and are “cancelling the overall deal between FX Productions and his production company, Pig Newton” and that he will receive no further compensation from them, while TBS has suspended production on The Cops, an animated series he co-created with Albert Brooks.
