Tom Hanks and Ron Howard return for Dan Brown’s Inferno

July 17, 2013 by admin

The adaptations of Dan Brown’s novels have proven very lucrative for Sony. Sadly for fans of Robert Langdon the third book in the series, The Lost Symbol, was mired in development troubles.

So much so in fact that Sony have decided to move onto the next book in the series, Inferno. Here’s the synopsis for the book…

“In the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symbology, Robert Langdon, is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces . . . Dante’s Inferno.

Against this backdrop, Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. Drawing from Dante’s dark epic poem, Langdon races to find answers and decide whom to trust . . . before the world is irrevocably altered.“

Re-teaming Tom Hanks and Ron Howard from The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, Inferno is set for a release date of December 18th, 2015.
