Andrew Kreisberg fired from The CW’s DC shows following sexual harassment investigation

After Andrew Kreisberg’s suspension earlier this month following allegations of sexual harassment, Warner Bros. Television has announced he has been fired from his role as executive producer across The CW’s line of DC shows, including Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

On November 10th, Variety published a story that 19 men and women came forward with allegations that Kriesberg had harassed them over a number of years with unwanted advances, sexualized comments and inappropriate touching. After suspending Kreisberg, Warner conducted an investigation into the allegations and decided to dismiss Kreisberg from all their shows immediately.

WB put out a statement regarding the decision and how Kreisberg’s role will be filled in The Flash and Supergirl, the two shows he has been most prominently involved with. Executive producer Greg Berlanti, who helped develop these shows with Kreisberg, will fill in for him on Flash and Supergirl with help from their current showrunners.

“After a thorough investigation, Warner Bros. Television Group has terminated Andrew Kreisberg’s employment, effective immediately,” said the studio. “Greg Berlanti will assume additional responsibilities on both The Flash, where he will work closely with executive producer/co-showrunner Todd Helbing, and Supergirl, where he will work closely with executive producers/co-showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. We remain committed to providing a safe working environment for our employees and everyone involved in our productions.”

Berlanti and his producing partner Sarah Schechter also made a statement regarding the investigation and Kreisberg’s dismissal. “Warner Bros. Television Group recently concluded its investigation into the allegations against Andrew Kreisberg. We encouraged and supported this investigation, we believe and support the individuals who came forward, and we agree with the studio’s decision. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of all our colleagues — coworkers, crew and staff alike.”
