Official synopsis released for Disney’s Christopher Robin

January 17, 2018 by George Chrysostomou

As Disney’s Christopher Robin film continues to move towards its August 2018 release date, the studio has released an official synopsis for the upcoming live-action Winnie the Pooh movie:

In the heartwarming live action adventure “Disney’s Christopher Robin,” the young boy who loved embarking on adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with a band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.

Winnie the Pooh was created by A.A. Milne in 1924, and his son Christopher Robin Milne was the basis for the character of Christopher Robin. Winnie the Pooh was based upon a Canadian black bear that had been donated to the London Zoo by her owner, Harry Coleburn, after World War I. Milne and his son saw the bear at the zoo so much Christopher named his teddy bear Winnie, becoming the inspiration for the character.

Disney is looking to re-imagine the Christopher Robin character at a later age, perhaps in the process recapturing the love for the beloved bear. Director Marc Forster has set out to add yet another tale to the timeless story of Winnie the Pooh and with an official synopsis revealed, it is likely not too long before a trailer is released.

Christopher Robin is set for release on August 3rd 2018 and features a cast that includes Ewan McGregor as Christopher,  Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn and Mark Gatiss as his boss Giles. The voice cast includes Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh), Nick Mohammed (Piglet), Brad Garrett (Eeyore), Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Kanga) and Wyatt Hall (Roo).
