Scott Eastwood joins Morgan Freeman in thriller The Manuscript, Nick Cassavetes to direct

February 16, 2018 by Ricky Church

Scott Eastwood (Pacific Rim Uprising) will soon be joining Morgan Freeman in the cat-and-mouse thriller The Manuscipt, according to The Hollywood Reporter. What’s more is the film has gained a new director with Nick Cassavetes (The Other Woman), who is replacing John Moore.

The Manuscript sees Freeman as an imprisoned genius who writes and sends chapters of his latest novel to an aspiring young writer, played by Eastwood. Eastwood’s character then becomes caught up in a high-stakes plot to recover over $100 million worth of stolen diamonds.

The film comes from a script written by Louis Rosenberg and Joe Rosenbaum. Also joining the film is producer Rob Paris through his Paris Film Inc. banner. Producing with Paris is Mike Witherill (John Wick) and Mark Williams (The Accountant). Highland Film Group is handling international sales and will be speaking with buyers at Berlin’s European Film Market (EFM).
