Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker gets a US release date

October 8, 2014 by Tom Powter

Charming Super Mario spin-off Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker has been given a release date for the US – December 5th.

There were originally fears that the game was going to be delayed into 2015, especially after Europe’s date was pushed into the first quarter of the year, missing a Christmas release. Luckily, it seems that isn’t going to be the case for gamers in North America.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker previewed well, with IGN saying that the game was a “gorgeous and confidently directed game”. The game itself is a spin-off based on the Toad mini games that were a part of Super Mario 3D World on the Wii U and was first announced during Nintendo’s E3 2014 Digital Event. Throughout the game, players must navigate Captain Toad through a series of obstacles before reaching a gold star at the end of a level. Like in Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad can walk and run, but is unable to jump.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is currently expected to release in Europe and Australia in the first quarter of 2015.
