Last week it was revealed that Gary Whitta has stepped down from writing duties on the first Star Wars spin-off movie, which is being directed by Gareth Edwards.
Slash Film has now learnt that Simon Kinberg will taking over writing duties for the upcoming movie. Kinberg is already executive producer on the animated show Star Wars: Rebels and has been a consultant on December’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The untitled Star Wars spin-off is set to go into production at Pinewood Studios later this year and is set for a December 16th, 2016 release.
