Donald Glover believes being a fan of Lando improved his performance in Solo: A Star Wars Story

April 12, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Donald Glover says that being a fan of Lando helped better his performance as the character in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

There are a lot of questions regarding Solo, more than just if fans will respond to the finished product. Being a prequel many are excited about seeing how younger versions of favourite characters are going to be portrayed.

Donald Glover’s performance as Lando Calrissian is perhaps the most eagerly anticipated component of the film and the actor has said that because he is such a big fan of the character, his own performance has been elevated.

“You tend to do a better job of things when you’re a fan. You have standards, a little bit,” Glover explained on The Star Wars Show. “You just know what you would hate a little bit more. If that happened, you’d be like, ‘This is wack.'”

The portrayal of characters like Lando and Han are sure to be under intense scrutiny, so it’s good to know actors like Glover have a deep passion for doing the role justice – hopefully audiences respond in a positive manner regarding his work.
