Intrigue expansion now available for Galactic Civilizations III

April 12, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Intrigue is the new major expansion for Stardock’s 4X turn based space strategy game, Galactic Civilizations III.  This latest expansion adds a number of new features including politics, government, commonwealths and the new Galactic Market.  These new features can be seen in the expansion’s release trailer and can be seen below.

With Intrigue players can now choose how to govern their empire by establishing a government but an approval rating will need to be kept high to maintain control of it; too many bad decisions or taxing people too much will be bad news during the next election.  A variety of governmental systems are available including democracy, monarchy and even theocracy plus there is a new Commonwealth status that can be given to worlds by granting them independence, this is particularly useful if you want to cut down on the amount of micromanagement.

Intrigue features:

  • Politics and Governments to help with expanding empires with a choice of type of government and type of ruler.
  • Commonwealths created by giving worlds independence.
  • Galactic Market will make resources available for purchase.
  • Galactic News Network will keep players informed of events taking place across the galaxy such as new alliances or war declarations.
  • An updated Galactic Bazaar that sells more than just the services of mercenaries.
  • New events including famines and protests, new ships awarded by certain governments and much more.

Intrigue is available for Galactic Civilizations III now on Steam.
