Karl Urban says conversations are taking place about a Dredd sequel

It may not have set the box office alight, but the 2012 reboot Dredd certainly won its fair share of fans, many of whom are still holding out hope for a second outing for Karl Urban’s Lawman of the Future. Well, those hopes have been raised this week, with Urban stating at Destination Star Trek Frankfurt (via WhatCulture) that “conversations” have been taking place with the studio about a sequel, which would reunite The Lord of the Rings and Star Trek star with writer-producer Alex Garland.

As it happens Garland has plans for three movies (read what he had to say about his Dredd trilogy at the 2012 London Film and Comic-Con here), and with the film performing well on home video, it seems that a sequel is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.
