As New Regency and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed gears up to go into production later this year, Deadline has revealed that Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard (La Vie En Rose, The Dark Knight Rises) has signed on for a mystery role in the video game adaptation.
Cotillard is set to join star Michael Fassbender in the cast, having recently worked with the actor on director Justin Kurzel’s adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, which is set for release later this year. Fassbender will appear in the lead role of the potential franchise-launcher, as well as serving as producer.
Production on Assassin’s Creed is set to start in the Fall ahead of a release on December 21st 2016.
