The Fault in our Stars writers to pen new John Green adaptation Looking for Alaska

March 4, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

After having great success with (500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now (still criminally without a scheduled UK release) and last year’s box-office hit The Fault in our Stars, writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber are hot writing property in Hollywood right now, and the pair have settled on their next gig.

The writing duo are set to team up for another John Green (Stars) novel adaptation in the form of the author’s first novel Looking for Alaska for Paramount Pictures, who have acquired the rights. The book tells the story of a teenager named Miles who goes to boarding school for his junior year. There, he meets a enigmatic student named Alaska and begins to fall for her.

Neustadter and Weber will executive produce the film, but no director or cast has been announced as of yet.

Fault in Our Stars earned a whopping $350 million worldwide, and starred Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. Their latest adaptation of Green’s works, Paper Towns, with Nat Wolff (Stuck in Love) and Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad), is released on June 5th in the USA and on June 19th in the UK.
