Poyo gets trashed!
This month’s continuing story “Blood Pudding” read with brevity; kind of bookended with two characters (John and Tony) sitting glumly and not knowing where to go next.
I think, as a community, we’re still trying to get over the death of our beloved Poyo, even as poor Olive sits in ICU trying to recover from as her medical chart reads “Face has Owie.” Haha, God, I love this book. We’re seeing a shift in characterization a bit also as John is now plagued with nervousness over his actions, not confident as he usually is, while Tony, who has always been able to fly off the handle, is a seeming powder keg ready to blow. John dreams he’s put on the case of finding what happened to the missing agent (Poyo) but Tony is as well, in secret, and being the smash detective he is, he finds out what John did and it gets him killed.
The ironic thing is , both of these events happen, it’s just that Tony is preoccupied as we get into a major storyline moving forward, one that’s been building since around issue #6 or so, which is the ultimate showdown between our two star cibopaths, Tony and Savoy.
There’s also a nice casefile in the middle with Sugar Bear proving he’s not just a gimmicky looking agent, he’s got skills.
