According to Collider, Angelina Jolie (Unbroken) is under consideration to take on the director’s chair on Marvel Studios’ first female led superhero movie, 2018’s Captain Marvel.
The report emerged last night, with Collider also claiming that Jolie was wanted by Warner Bros. for Wonder Woman – a project that actually secured Patty Jenkins (Monster) as director just moments later.
Given that half of the story has already been debunked, it’s unlikely that this report holds much – if any – weight. However, if Marvel is looking at high profile female directors for Captain Marvel then you’d have to assume Jolie will at least feature on the shortlist.
