A Doctor Who murder mystery adventure coming from BBC Books in August

May 13, 2024 by Andrew Newton

BBC Books will be bringing Doctor Who: Death in the Stars, a new Doctor Who murder mystery, on the 22nd August.  This new Doctor Who adventure has been written by Bonnie Langford (with Jacqueline Rayner) and will release as both a hardback and an audiobook, with the latter being narrated by Bonnie Langford herself.

In Doctor Who: Death in the Stars, Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford’s character in the Doctor Who series) has set out with her business partner Sabalom Glitz on one of his ‘get rich quick’ schemes. As with most of these types of schemes, things don’t go according to plan and after barely escaping a murderous galactic cult the pair seek out fellow survivors in a nearby spaceship graveyard.

While the pair explore the ruined vessels, Glitz looks to fill his pockets but the discovery of a ship hiding a mass of secrets and its crew in suspended animation soon leaves them stranded.  When Mel revives the crew members it is then that the murders start, vicious murders that couldn’t possibly have been committed by any of the crewmembers. With the revived crew all proved innocent it leaves just two suspects – Mel and Glitz themselves.
