Ahead of its release this October, a trailer and character posters have arrived online for A Writer’s Odyssey 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2021 Chinese fantasy drama from director Yang Lu.
The film sees author Lu Kongwen join forces with the characters from his novel to save both worlds from an impending catastrophe when he is faced with an irresistible temptation during a life crisis which sends them to their doom. Check out the trailer below…
A novelist, Lu Kongwen, finds himself in the depths of a life crisis when he is drawn by an irresistible temptation, leading both himself and the characters in his book into an irreversible catastrophe. In the novel’s world, the protagonist Kongwen embarks on a journey of resistance to defy his predetermined fate.
In the end, the novelist confronts his own dark side, regains his faith, and joins forces with his characters to save both worlds from impending doom.
The cast includes Guo Jingfei, Deng Chao, Dong Zijian, Lei Jiayin, Angela Wang, Ding Chengxin, Wang Yanlin, Finden, Xin Zhilei, Chang Yuan, and Chang Chen.
A Writer’s Odyssey 2 arrives in cinemas on October 1st.
