Action roguelite Demon Spore gets a trailer and demo

February 12, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Null Games and developer DinoBoss have released a new demo for their upcoming action roguelite Demon Spore on Steam. With this new demo, players can go solo, team up with 3 players in couch co-op, across the world with Steam Remote Play Together or a mix of either, and attempt to escape the first floor.  A new trailer can be seen below showing off some of the frantic co-op action in store.

Inspired by 80’s horror, Demon Spore takes players to a cutting-edge genetics research laboratory where a secret experiment to create a new food source has gone wildly out of control. As an expanding mass of flesh and tentacles spread throughout the facility, players must scavenge the maze of rooms and corridors for tools and makeshift weapons that will help in ensuring survival.

Up to four players can team up in an attempt to escape the laboratory together and explore a map that changes with every new run. In typical roguelite fashion, no two runs will be the same.

The new demo will allow players to experience the following features:

  • Team up with three other players in couch co-op or Steam Remote Play, or even both.
  • Tackle the first floor of the Protagenics lab to make it to the lift and escape.
  • Six experimental weapons, including a tesla coil gun and a scalpel thrower to try out.
  • Loot the labs for equipment to increase damage, move faster, resist acid and flames or even where the creature will grow next.
  • Discover memos from other scientists that tell of the outbreak, or meet others for ammo and medical treatment.
  • Each playable character comes with a unique equipment perk that suits their background.
  • Use security consoles to lock down rooms to trap the creature.
  • Each run brings a new lab layout and different equipment.

Visit Demon Spore’s Steam page and give the demo a try ahead of its launch later this year.
