Alison Brie denies rumour linking her to Marvel’s She-Hulk

March 1, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Earlier in the week a report began circulating online which claimed that Marvel is looking to cast Alison Brie (or an ‘Alison Brie-type) for the lead role of Jennifer Walters in the Disney+ series She-Hulk, but now the GLOW actress has moved to dismiss the rumour.

“I woke up with a bunch of Instagram posts of side-by-side pictures of me and She-Hulk, which I just thought, ‘Cool,’” said Brie during an appearance on The Late Late Show. “And then the quote about the ‘Alison Brie-type,’ which honestly I found very exciting because for years I auditioned for the ‘Anne Hathaway-type’ or the ‘Zooey Deschanel-type.’ I was very flattered to be my own type.”

Asked whether she’d subsequently been on the phone to Marvel, Brie responded: “No, I did not!… I find it… interesting.”

So, it seems if Brie is really leading Marvel’s shortlist, the actress herself isn’t aware of it yet – although it does sound like she’s open to the possibility should the opportunity present itself.
