Amy Adams to headline legal thriller The Holdout

Six-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams is heading to the small screen for The Holdout, a limited series from The Imitation Game’s Graham Moore.

According to Deadline Adams will also executive produce the legal thriller, which is being adapted by the Oscar-winning screenwriter from his book of the same name.

Described as 12 Angry Men meets Serial or Chinatown, The Holdout tells the story of Maya Seale, who a decade prior controversially persuaded the the jurors in a high-profile murder case to vote not guilty, only now one of them is found dead, and Maya is the prime suspect. 

Adams# last foray into television was the 2019 HBO limited series Sharp Objects, which earned her two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Limited Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.

Moore, who won the 2014 Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Imitation Game, made his directorial debut with 2022’s The Outfit [read our review ★★★★ here].
