Andy Garcia joins Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

Deadline is reporting that Andy Garcia has signed on to appear in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Universal Pictures’ sequel to the 2008 hit musical Mamma Mia!, which is being written and directed by Ol Parker (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel).

The film will feature the return of Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard and Colin Firth, and takes place across two time periods to show how forged in the past resonate in the present. New additions to the cast, portraying younger versions of the original leads, include Lily James Alexa Davies, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Jeremy Irvine, Josh Dylan and Hugh Skinner. Details of Garcia’s role are being jept under wraps for the time being.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is set for release in July 2018. Andy Garcia meanwhile will next be seen in Dean Devlin’s disaster epic Geostorm, which opens on October 20th.
