Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration trailer teases six new games and over 100 classics

November 7, 2022 by Andrew Newton

Atari has released a brand new trailer for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration that teases six new games created by developer Digital Eclipse.  With Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration gamers will go on an interactive journey though the company’s history while getting to play over 100 games from their past, from the Atari 2600 to the Jaguar and the arcade classics.  Watch the new trailer below….

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration allows players to look into the past of one of the most important companies in gaming history.  There’re plenty of games to play but also an interface that works like an interactive library allowing players to view Atari’s timeline, early game concepts and never-before-seen programmer interviews and commentaries.

Developers, Digital Eclipse, have worked tirelessly to accurately emulate the original games from the years of the Atari computers, consoles and handheld but they’ve also created six new titles, including Swordquest: AirWorld, the missing, last installment in the four-game Swordquest series.  It may have taken 40 years but fans can finally finish the full Swordquest adventure.  The other new titles are Haunted House, Vctr Sctr, Neo Breakout, Quadratank and Yars Revenge Reimagined.

Key features of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration include:

  • Over 100 classic games with modern quality-of-life enhancements.
  • Learn more about Atari with interviews, archival images, special source material and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Emulations for the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Atari ST, Atari Jaguar and Atari Lynx.
  • More than 60 minutes of exclusive interviews with key players in the games industry.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration arrives on Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch and PC on 11th November.
