Avengers: Infinity War casts Kong: Skull Island motion actor as Thanos’ right hand man

March 10, 2017 by Ricky Church

Avengers: Infinity War has made another casting announcement, but its not a big name like you might expect. Instead, motion-capture actor Terry Notary revealed that he has been cast as one of Thanos’ generals in the coming battle with the Avengers.

“I’m working on four characters right now,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview. “I’m working with Josh Brolin and three other actors in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, and I’m playing Josh Brolin’s right hand bad guy in the film. I can’t say the name of the character or I think Marvel will sever my head, but I apply those same principals of what it means to drop bullshit and just play a character truly evil. And it’s working. It’s truly working.”

With this information its still a mystery who he’s playing, but it does narrow the options down. Recently in the comics Thanos has been known to have a cabal of his top generals by his side which he calls the Black Order. Its been speculated that the group might make an appearance in the film since Jonathan Hickman’s Infinity, the event series that introduced the Black Order, is one of the stories being used as inspiration for Infinity War. Judging by Notary’s comments, it sounds like he could be playing Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw or the gigantic Black Dwarf.

Fans may not recognize Notary’s name, but he has been behind several motion capture performances in the last few years. He has played the ape Rocket in Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and will again portray him in Matt Reeve’s War for the Planet of the Apes. More recently, however, Notary performed the motion capture for the king of apes himself, King Kong, in Kong: Skull Island.

Who do you think Notary could be playing? Let us know below…
