Ben Affleck reveals Wonder Woman cameo in The Flash

March 29, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Gal Gadot is making her mark on the DCEU before the planned reboot from James Gunn and Peter Safran. After her appearance in Shazam! Fury of the Gods as Wonder Woman, Gadot is reportedly gearing up for at least one more cameo, given Ben Affleck may have just spoiled the news.

On a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast, Affleck’s recent comments offer up details on Wonder Woman’s appearance in The Flash and how it relates to one of his final appearances as Batman in this current DC Studios timeline.

Affleck reveals, “I don’t wanna give a spoiler, but it was a scene where I get caught, I get saved by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys. And she saves me by– I mean, I’m sure the spoiler, DC assassins are gonna get me, but […] she saves me with the Lasso of Truth. And so what happens is that Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life and his work… I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I got it!'”

Affleck sure dropped a lot of information there for someone not wanting to give away a spoiler. Though the actor seems proud of his work in The Flash, he could want to give the film an extra boost.

We are already getting another appearance of Michael Shannon’s Zod and Affleck’s Batman. Now, add Gadot’s Wonder Woman; this feels like a proper send-up to the Zack Snyder-era of the DCEU in an attempt to move forward. How will this go over with the fans? Will they embrace this, or will it be just another mixed reaction like Shazam! Fury of the Gods received?

There could be more DCEU-era cameos in the upcoming Aquaman sequel this December, but let’s see how the ones in The Flash fare first.

Along with Ezra Miller as Barry Allen alongside Zack Snyder’s Justice League co-stars Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Kiersey Clemons (Iris West), The Flash will see Michael Keaton making his return as Batman along with Ron Livingston (Office Space) as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu (Pan’s Labyrinth) as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as Supergirl.

The Flash is set for release on June 16th.
