Black Adam discussions started back in 2008, says Dwayne Johnson

March 20, 2020 by EJ Moreno

He may have to wait a little longer than anticipated, due to every major film production halting, but Dwayne Johnson has taken to Instagram to discuss his upcoming DC movie Black Adam, with the pro wrestling icon turned movie star shedding some light on just how long he’s been working on his comic book movie debut.

“In 2008 is when we first started talking about this, so it has a required patience by all of us as partners. I’m a much different man and an actor than I was ten years ago,” said Johnson, adding that the long wait will have been worth it.

Johnson also dove into the moral compass of the character and how he’s very different from Superman, saying his approach to dealing with enemies is “[ripping] you in half, literally.” The entire video is filled with little details like that, even dropping a hint that the film will be unlike any DC Comics movie we’ve seen before. Check it out here…

How excited am I to play, BLACK ADAM⚡️? Very. I dive into more detail on the “why” and the character’s mythology as well as a few key filmmakers who are ready to bring Black Adam’s story to life as we begin shooting this summer. How do I find balance in my wildly busy life? Easily one of my most asked questions, since finding our balance & wellness is something we all continue to strive for daily in our busy lives. My family. My gym. My pick up truck No “yes” people. And my @teremana 😈🥃 Thanks for the great questions. Stay healthy, take care of one another and we’ll pull thru this.
