Brandon Sklenar joins Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried in The Housemaid

October 27, 2024 by Ricky Church

Lionsgate’s upcoming adaptation of Frieda McFadden’s novel The Housemaid has added Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us) to star alongside the previously announced Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried.

The Housemaid centers around Millie (Sweeney), who secures a job as a maid for the affluent Winchester family after being hired on the spot by Nina (Seyfried), the wife. Millie moves into their mansion, living in the attic bedroom, but before long the dream job turns into a nightmare as secrets spill out and she discovers her room only locks from the outside.

The film is being directed by Jackpot! and Bridesmaids‘ Paul Feig from a script by Rebecca Sonnenshine. Feig will produce through his production company Feigco Entertainment with Laura Fischer and Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman and Carly Kleinbart Elter. Sweeney, Seyfried and McFadden will executive produce alongside Alex Young.

Sklenar is most known for his breakout role in the Yellowstone prequel 1923 as Spencer Dutton, which is currently filming its second season. He will also be seen in Drop from Christopher Landon.

In addition to directing The Housemaid, Feig also recently filmed A Simple Favor 2 with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively reprising their roles from the first film. The sequel will be released next year.
