Brett Ratner reportedly thinks he’ll direct Rush Hour 4, but no one else does

June 10, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Despite the fact that Warner Bros. Pictures cut all ties with him and his company RatPac Productions following last year’s sexual misconduct allegations, it seems that Brett Ratner is eyeing a return to Hollywood – and is hoping that a fourth Rush Hour movie will be his way back in.

According to THR, a studio executive has revealed that: “Brett has been walking around town telling people he’s going to direct a Rush Hour movie because it’s his only way back in. He’s trying to make believe he’s employable. Putting together a movie with him would be ‘a suicide mission’.”

Both Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have indicated recently that Rush Hour 4 could well move forward, but the article goes on to state that studio sources have “emphatically” ruled out the possibility of Ratner helming Rush Hour 4. However, apparently neither Warner Bros. chairman Kevin Tsujihara or film studio chairman Toby Emmerich have relayed that to him directly.

Producer Arthur Sarkissian also confirmed that Ratner is “not attached” to the film, but when asked whether it was possible that he could direct should it move ahead, Sarkissian was non-committal, replying that: “All I’m interested in is to make the best movie possible.”
