Chernobylite’s console release date pushed back

August 25, 2021 by Andrew Newton

The Farm 51 and publisher All in! Games have announced that the console release of their survival horror RPG, Chernobylite, has been delayed a little and will now be released on 28th September.  This delay is all down to a few unforeseen issues which the developers want to resolve before release.  In the meantime, enjoy the new accolades trailer below.

“We at All in! Games pride ourselves in setting high standards for all our releases and are pleased with the games that we have published this year. Incidentally, due to some unforeseen issues with the console build, we decided to slightly delay the launch of Chernobylite until it gets resolved,” said Piotr Żygadło, CEO at All in! Games. “We want to make sure we always deliver projects that are in excellent shape and pushing Chernobylite’s console release date back a few weeks will allow us to accomplish that. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we take the time to get this right.”

“Chernobylite has been a labour of love and we are humbled by the reception we have gotten so far from both players and critics,” said Wojciech Pazdur, Director of Development at The Farm 51.“ We have complete trust that the All in! Games team is doing everything in their power to successfully bring Chernobylite to our fans on console. While the delay is unfortunate, it’s also entirely necessary to live up to everyone’s expectations.”

This sci-fi survival horror RPG will take players to a hyper-realistic, 3D-scanned wasteland of Chernobyl’s Exclusion Zone where they take on the role of Igor, a physicist and ex-employee of the plant.  Igor has returned to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his fiance 30 years before but will need to avoid the hostile military, supernatural entities and other stalkers that inhabit the zone.

Players will be able to construct a base, create and use workstations that can be used to craft gadgets, traps and weapons, and recruit companions and plan their activities each day.

Chernobylite will be available digitally on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on 28th September, a physical edition will be available in the UK and Europe on 1st October.
