Chris Evans wants Captain America cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming

May 26, 2016 by Gary Collinson

During an interview with MTV, Chris Evans has revealed that he’s keen to reunite with his Captain America: Civil War co-stars Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. in next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

“[Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2] would be fun, wouldn’t it?” said Evans when asked where he’d like to see Captain America next popping up in the MCU. “It’s very outer space-y. Cap’s more of an Earth-bound guy. Maybe the next Spider-Man. Those are going to be fantastic, and I think Tom’s just a great actor, so that might be a fun one to pop up into.”

As it happens, there may be a good chance we will get to see Cap in Homecoming, as Robert Downey Jr. let slip back in December that he’d be shooting with Evans in Atlanta, which just so happens to be where the Spidey reboot is set to film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is is set for release on July 7th 2017, with Jon Watts (Cop Car) directing. The film will see Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) and Marisa Tomei (Aunt May) reprising their roles from Captain America: Civil War alongside Zendaya (K.C. Undercover), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Laura Harrier (One Life to Live), while Michael Keaton (Birdman) is in talks to play the villain, thought to be The Vulture.
