Christopher Nolan adds Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Nick Tarabay and more to The Odyssey

February 15, 2025 by Ricky Church

Another day, another round of casting for Christopher Nolan’s telling of the Greek classic The Odyssey. The latest actors to join the ever-growing ensemble are Mia Goth (MaXXXine), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Nick Tarabay (Spartacus), Jimmy Gonzales (Mayans M.C.) and Maurice Compte (Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood).

Variety broke the news of Goth’s casting while Deadline announced the rest. As is typical with most of Nolan’s films, much is being kept under very high levels of secrecy so we do not know who any of the cast is playing in the latest adaptation of the Greek tragedy.

Told over 2000 years ago by the Greek writer Homer, The Odyssey tells the tale of Odysseus in the aftermath of the Trojan War as he sailed home to Ithica. Blown across the sea by the anger of the Gods, Odysseus spent a decade trying to get back home while encountering many characters from Greek mythology, most famously the witch Circe and the cyclops Polyphemus.

The Odyssey features a huge ensemble of actors, many of whom have worked with Nolan previously. The new cast members join the previously announced Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Hamish Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Jesse Garcia and Will Yun Lee.

Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey, is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
