Clark Gregg hoping to see Avengers guest starring in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

January 12, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Despite the fact that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is now in its third season, so far there’s been no indication that Phil Coulson is alive and well as far as the big screen side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is concerned, with Avengers director Joss Whedon even stating last year that “in the films, he’s dead.”

However, Clark Gregg hasn’t given up hope that Coulson may one day share the screen with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes again, with the actor telling Digital Spy that he hopes some of The Avengers could guest star in the ABC series:

“Literally all of [the Avengers actors], at different times in different interviews – have been really generous about wanting to be part of it. I hope that seems like the right thing to do at some point. So far I’ve liked the way that people like Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) got to be let out to play a little more than they’d get to normally – and whether it’s at the cinema or on the television, I hope at some point Phil Coulson gets to explain what he’s been doing.”
