Clayton Cardenas joins Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans MC

February 20, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Following on from the casting of Edward James Olmos, THR is reporting that Clayton Cardenas (American Crime) has signed on to appear in Kurt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy spinoff pilot Mayans MC.

Cardenas is set to play Angel Reyes, the brother of lead character EZ Reyes. Anegl is described as “a full patch member of the Mayans MC, Santo Padre [who] lives with the burden of being the ‘lesser son’ in a proud Mexican family who loves few and trusts even fewer.”

The spinoff takes place on the California/Mexico border and will explore the inner workings of the Mayans MC character through the eyes of EZ Reyes, a prospect who struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel as well as his need for respect from the women he loves.

Kurt Sutter has penned the pilot for Elgin James, and will also direct.
