Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed again

October 27, 2020 by Gary Collinson

We’ve been waiting the best part of a decade, so what’s another few weeks…

Yes, if you’ve been planning to spend the second half of your November exploring Night City, then we have some bad news for you as developer CD Projekt Red has announced that the hotly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed once again, and will now arrive three weeks later than (most recently) planned on December 10th.

“Please accept our humble apologies,” reads the statement from the developer. “The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen, and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test nine versions whil working from home… We’re aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make a difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.”

Developed by CD Projekt Red, the company behind The Witcher video game series, Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced way back in 2012 before resurfacing with a trailer at E3 2018. It was originally slated to release on April 16th, before being pushed back to September 17th, November 19th, and now December 10th. Let’s hope this is the last time the date shifts…

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.
