Darksiders Warmastered Edition now available on Switch

April 3, 2019 by Patrick Nolan

As of today, the remaster of Darksiders is now available on Nintendo Switch in both physical and digital formats. This version of the game has been available on other platforms such as the Xbox One, PC and PS4 for quite a while now; if you still haven’t tried the game on any of those platforms, here is another opportunity. A trailer for the remaster can be seen here…

In case you were unaware of what Darksiders is up until this point, we’ll fill you in. The Darksiders trilogy follows the stories of the four horseman of the apocalypse and their mission to restore balance to the earth after it is destroyed in a war between hell and heaven. Many of Darksiders’ gameplay mechanics are similar to those you would see in a Zelda title (just with guns and gore): third person combat, dungeons with puzzles and a constantly expanding arsenal of gadgets to use are just a few of the similarities between the two games.

This edition of the game does not include the Deathinitive edition that was created for Darksiders 2, so if you were hoping for some extra value you will be sorely disappointed. It is unclear at this time whether Darksiders 2 or it’s sequel, Darksiders 3, will ever arrive on the Switch console; maybe the commercial success (or failure) of Warmastered will decide whether the entire Darksiders franchise will eventually make an appearance on Nintendo’s portable console.

Darksiders Warmastered is available today on Nintendo Switch for £26.99. Admittedly this is quite pricey considering that the Darksiders Fury’s Collection – War and Death is currently available for £25.99 on the Xbox Store; this bundle includes remasters for the first and second game.

Are you picking up Darksiders on Switch or have you already played it? Give us some feedback in the comments below.
