Having finished his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Wrap is reporting that Diego Luna is in talks for the lead role in the upcoming remake of the 1990 sci-fi thriller Flatliners, where he would star alongside Ellen Page (X-Men: Days of Future Past).
The new film is being directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) from a script by Ben Ripley (Source Code), with Laurence Mark and Michael Douglas producing. Production is slated to get underway in July.
Directed by Joel Schumacher, the original Flatliners followed a group of medical students experimenting with near death experiences and starred Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt and Kevin Bacon.
