Dinosaur horror Rip Current coming in September

August 28, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Breaking Dimensions and Polygon Dust have announced that their first-person dinosaur horror game Rip Current, will launch on PC via Steam on 23rd September.  This tense and atmospheric horror will have players face terrifying dinos that have been created in an aquatic research station, and you can see more of this lab in the launch trailer below…

In an effort to save the planet, the Post Salvos aquatic research station has somehow unleashed a scourge of dinosaurs, and not friendly ones either. When all communications from the research station end abruptly, players are sent in to discover why. Taking control of Carter, a special operations contractor, players must investigate the facility and discover what has happened, but more importantly survive.

Upon arrival, players will find the station in ruins, labs flooded and corridors overrun by bio-engineered predators, including the deadly spinosaurus. Fight or use stealth through the devastated corridors and labs and collect logs, research files and even human remains, to piece together what happened to those who worked in the research facility.

Will Carter be able to discover what has happened at Post Salvos, shut down this disastrous experiment before it reshapes the oceans forever, and get out alive? Find out with Rip Current when it launches on Steam for PC on 23rd September.
