Disney’s Bob Chapek says Marvel’s Armor Wars series will “scratch the itch” fans have for more Iron Man

June 15, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Fan of Tony Stark and Iron Man have been heartbroken since the events of Avengers: Endgame. Bob Chapek has heard the cry from fans and says that they’ll get some Iron Man in their life. Well, sort of.

In a recent virtual press conference, the Disney CEO was asked by the moderator about the return of Iron Man. Fans have been very vocal about wanting Robert Downey Jr to return as Iron Man, even putting up a billboard in Los Angles with the hashtag #BringTonyStarkBackToLife.

While Chapek says the fans will get something to curb that Iron Man appetite, he does it by pushing the upcoming Disney+ series, Armor Wars. Check out the tweet below:

Moderator says Marvel fan is asking Chapek to bring back Iron Man. His response:

"Tell your Marvel fan that we've got a series called Armor Wars coming up staring Don Cheadle as War Machine and I think that will probably scratch the itch that our fans have for more Iron Man."

“Tell your Marvel fan that we’ve got a series called Armor Wars coming up staring Don Cheadle as War Machine, and I think that will probably scratch the itch that our fans have for more Iron Man.”

Little is known about Armor Wars, but reports say the upcoming Disney+ series will deal with some heavy topics. Back in February of this year, Don Cheadle noted that “the death of Tony Stark would play a major role in the series.” He also said the series was only a few months out from shooting as well.

While this may not be what fans have wanted, it does seem like the death of Tony Stark is playing too big of a role in the MCU to reverse it so quickly. Armor Wars could offer a glimpse into the future though, even possibly the launching point for the next era of Iron Man with Riri Williams and Ironheart.
