Doctor Strange director exits In the Multiverse of Madness over creative differences

January 10, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Marvel Studios’ plans for the Sorcerer Supreme’s next outing have hit a bump in the road with the news that Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson has vacated the director’s chair on 2021’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences.

“Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson have amicably parted ways on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences,” reads the official statement from Marvel. “Derrickson will stay on as an executive producer and we remain grateful to Scott for his contributions to the MCU.”

“Marvel and I have mutually agreed to part ways on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences,” adds Derrickson. “I am thankful for our collaboration and will remain on as EP.”
