Marvel Comics has announced that its latest Disney mashup is set to arrive this September as Donald Duck proves himself worthy in the one-shot comic adventure Marvel & Disney: What If…? Donald Duck Became Thor #1 from writers Steve Behling and Riccardo Secchi and artist Lorenzo Pastrovicchio.
Following on from the upcoming Marvel & Disney: What If…? Donald Duck Became Wolverine #1, the special is inspired by Thor’s legendary first appearance in Journey Into Mystery #83 and will see pop culture’s most iconic duck wielding Mjolnir in an epic battle against alien invaders.
“When we saw the designs for the Stone Ducks of Saturn and The Destroyer we literally laughed out loud,” said editor Mark Paniccia. “I can honestly say I never thought I’d see something like this in my career. I gotta pinch myself to make sure it’s not a dream.”
